Monster Mashup is a multi-experience project featuring my love for monsters through an activity book and mobile game. The book (and all its pieces) were created first followed by the interactive game.
The book was designed as a tool to foster creativity and refine attention to detail through the act of tracing and drawing monsters piece by piece. With the mobile game app, I revisited monster building in a virtual world with more actions and activities.
My design system of visual and touch-based interactions allows the user to connect with their creation. Customization, feeding and cleaning up after the monster improves the monster's happiness granting the user points. These points are used to purchase new and sometimes exclusive body parts from the Monster Shop.
